Cycling route Valčianska dolina, Rajec 55 km
For all cycling and nature enthusiasts, we have prepared a more challenging route that starts in the heart of Valčianska dolina near the Woodpark chalets and continues all the way to the Rajec Basin. The trail takes you through forests, villages, and historic towns, offering stunning views and plenty of opportunities to rest and enjoy refreshments.
Valčianska dolina – Kunerad (20 km)
The route starts in the Valčianska dolina area at the Woodpark chalets, an ideal spot to begin your cycling adventure. From Valčianska dolina, you head toward Kúpeľ up to the Maríková saddle. From there, the trail descends to Kunerad. This section winds through picturesque forests and meadows, offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Be prepared for a steeper climb.
Kunerad – Rajec (6 km)
In Kunerad, we recommend stopping by Kunerad Castle. From Kunerad, continue to the town of Rajec, where you can enjoy the historic square and relax in the local cafés.
Rajec – Rajecká Lesná (6 km)
From Rajec, the route continues to Rajecká Lesná, known for its pilgrimage site and unique wooden nativity scene. This section is moderately challenging, but the reward is stunning views and interesting landmarks.
Rajecká Lesná – Sedlo pod Hnilickou Kýčerou (10 km)
From Rajecká Lesná, continue through the Rajecká Lesná Valley to the Sedlo pod Hnilickou Kýčerou, known for its stunning nature and hiking trails. This section of the route is more challenging. Along the way, you will come across a geyser.
Sedlo pod Hnilickou Kýčerou – Slovianska dolina – Valča (13 km)
From the saddle, the route returns through Slovianska dolina, where you can enjoy the peace and beauty of nature. This section is perfect for a relaxing ride after the more challenging parts of the route.

Along the way, you can enjoy stunning natural scenery, historic landmarks, and opportunities to rest and refresh.
