How to sauna safely and healthy

The dry sauna (also known as a Finnish sauna) is a popular place to relax, not only after physical activity. It’s excellent for both body and mind and offers numerous health benefits. 🌿🔥

Temperatures can reach 90–110 °C, with minimal air humidity. To eliminate toxins and fully enjoy its benefits, follow these guidelines:

  1. Before entering the sauna, take a thorough shower. This helps your body sweat more easily. Dry yourself completely afterward.
  2. Do not consume alcohol before or after your sauna session. Enter the sauna neither on a full stomach (wait at least two hours after eating) nor hungry.
  3. Do not wear swimsuits in the sauna, as high temperatures can release harmful substances from them. Use a clean towel provided for you at the chalet.
  4. Limit your time in the sauna to 15–20 minutes. If you are new to sauna bathing, start with a shorter session and gradually increase the duration.
  5. After 15 minutes (or your chosen interval), exit the sauna and cool your body with a cold shower or snow.
  6. Then, rehydrate and relax—drink plenty of fluids, wrap yourself in a bathrobe, and rest.
  7. You can repeat the entire process 2–3 times for maximum benefit.
  8. You may finish your relaxation in a heated jacuzzi, but make sure to shower thoroughly first to remove any toxins released during the sauna session.
